Our Mission

Our mission is to produce high-quality, sustainably raised meats while prioritizing the well-being of our animals and the health of our land. We are dedicated to responsible farming practices, supporting local agriculture, and providing our community with fresh, farm-to-table products. Through innovation and tradition, we strive to create a lasting positive impact on both our customers and the environment.

Our Story

Established in 1987 by Dave and Susan Brower, Brower Farms is a family-owned operation located in the heart of Michigan's picturesque Thumb region. With over four decades of experience, we've grown into a diverse farming enterprise, raising beef, pork, lamb, and goat, alongside crops such as corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay. Brower Farms exemplifies the charm of Midwest agriculture.

Our Farming Practices

Our Farming Practices

Livestock Care

Our animals thrive in spacious, open-air pens with access to fresh water, high-quality feed, and ample shelter. We ensure their comfort year-round, providing cozy straw bedding and balanced diets through every season.

While the allure of grass-fed livestock is undeniable, the reality of Michigan's climate presents challenges. With grass available only seasonally and harsh winters, we supplement our animals' diets with corn and hay grown right here on our land.

We ensure that our animals are raised without antibiotics or hormones for growth. Antibiotics are used only when necessary for the health of the animals.

Animal Herds

Animal Herds

Our cattle herd ranges between 200 and 300 cows, depending on the season. In addition to cattle, we maintain herds of sheep, goats, and pigs, all sourced from trusted local family farms. Our lambs, in particular, come from nearby Amish farms, where animal care is prioritized. Each of our animals is fed a diet of corn, hay, and oats grown right here on our farm.

Sustainability & Crop Cultivation

Sustainability & Crop Cultivation

With over five decades of crop-growing experience, Brower Farms is conservation certified, reflecting our deep commitment to sustainable farming. Dave and his Son-in-law Bob work closely with other local experts to ensure we are utilizing the most sustainable farming practices such as crop rotation. While rooted in traditional practices, we are also committed to modern innovations in sustainable and responsible farming.
